How to Play

Objective

To beat the sphinx, you will need to think outside of the box and find out what happened in its mysterious story!

Playing

  1. Read the puzzle. It's always something unexpected
  2. Ask yes/no questions. Ask questions that can be answered with "Yes" or "No"
  3. Narrow down. Build your understanding of what happened through deductive reasoning
  4. Discover the solution. The sphinx will let you know when you solved it!

Example

Scenario: A man was walking down the street when it started to rain. Yet, not a single hair on his head got wet. How?

  • "Did he have an umbrella?" → No
  • "Was he wearing a hat?" → No
  • "Was he rich?" → Irrelevant
  • "Where was he?" → Invalid (can't be answered with yes/no)
  • "Was he wearing a hoodie? Did he have a newspaper over his head?" → Invalid (multiple questions)
  • "Was it raining on him?" → Yes
  • "Was he bald?" → You found the solution! Since the man was bald, no hair on his head got wet!
